some nice lists you and @Abstrakt I only got into Tool a couple of years ago, literally just blind-bought "Aenima" and "Lateralus" in November and I listened to nothing but those albums all winter.

Led Zeppelin was one of my first favorite bands, definitely, what are your favorite albums? Mine was originally III, but I kinda got tired of it. My more long-lasting favorite album would be a draw between Physical Graffiti and I.

I also dig Bob Dylan, the old bootlegs, Blonde on Blonde, shit every one of his albums has some classics, Desire/Hghway 61/Blood On The Tracks, i had all of these on CD in my former life

some of my most played (non hip-hop, and non Radiohead/before mentioned itt) artists:

King Crimson
Jethro Tull
The Doors
Porcupine Tree
Manic Street Preachers
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Explosions In The Sky
Mogwai
Cat Power
Comets On Fire
Pavement
Neutral Milk Hotel
Deftones
Staind
Korn

and yeah just too many to mention, same as with y'all I am sure

then I would be curious to know, as I don't know if any of you guys know another language....? Some of my favorite music is in Portuguese and Spanish as well

for the smiths, i LOVE the song "How soon is now?"... for led zeppelin, they are a great all around band but if i had to pick a fav album itd be houses of the holy because of the diversity on the tracks.

yeah, that's the one "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" unique and mesmerizing

King Crimson, my favorites are Discipline and Larks' Tongues in Aspic

ah yeah, one of my neighbors has been learning French, and he has said the abundance of hip-hop has been pretty instrumental for his learning, no pun intended

I like French, in theory, but the music for some reason gives me a headache. spoken more...normally? I like it and would like to learn it more thoroughly

What about some Japanese hip-hop artists? hit me

Japanese hip hop suffers from the problem of too many corny, wannabe Americans and not enough rappers that are uniquely Japanese.

For me personally, Japanese hip hop that has an old-school new-school sound is my favorite:

Then on a production tip:
