I've always liked Illmac's lyrics but from 2011-2014 I wouldn't have bought any of his album because of his beat choice. However, in the last 3 years, his beat choices have really improved. Case and point, this track.

Keep going illmac/great work chase

how do people make kareoke versions of top 40 songs
or beats that sound EXACTLY the same

voice removal software (all of it) is shit and cant do it
do you have to remake the beat from scratch?

+ do you know if its hard or easy to do this for someone who is an experienced beatmaker or audio engineer or producer?

if u could answer these questions (if u know) id really appreciate it man!

You know that you can buy instrumentals of most popular songs, right? I doubt most rappers do anything more than that. Hell, the instrumentals to the recent Jay-Z album are already on Youtube, for example.

well karoake versions sometimes get made in the studio along with the other versions such as Clean, Instrumental, a performance version etc.

beats also get re-made a lot too. for example, i have a client that does parody versions of popular songs on some weird al shit and i remake the instrumental but slightly change it so it isnt flagged for copyright.

for me these aren't TOO HARD to do, but can be time consuming & tedious if i'm re-making a more complicated/complex song.
