If you do business with Lush at this point, you deserve all of this fuckery.

I can't stand listen f to Lush talk tough. The memory of the math fight when he was jumping gates comes to mind. Don't think Lush would be so brave if he was in person by himself.

This thread is weird and some of you guys are way to thirsty to try & blame Lush tangentially. How was there even a debate over whether or not this dude was lying? He's contradicted himself multiple times over his two interviews. Now he's trying to throw Debo & Lush under the bus and he would have done all the obviously much smarter things they suggested but he got everyone dressing rooms and vegan catering to "put the west on."

Does anyone buy that shit?

Are all the battlers complicit too? Really anyone who talked to him or his team before the event should be by this standard. They should have been better judges of character and known this dude would blow the budget on pixelated logos and kale wraps.

Lush got payed to host, he showed up to host. Simple as that. If anything he went above and beyond holding down the Titanic band position of entertaining dying passengers on a sinking ship.

Is there room for another big league in California that are using the same artists as KOTD?

Are the Fresh Coast artists as big a draw with a 'new platform'?

URL West is probably the best chance to compete with KOTD West, but they aren't recycling 'all' of the artists (just a few lol).

Honestly, I don't get why URL would try to compete out west instead of trying to provide quality events across the rest of the United States. They've got easier to dominate markets in other major cities.

I'm guessing it's because it's the one major region in battle rap that they've never really had any kind of major presence with before. That said, I'm surprised they haven't tried to go back to Chicago or Detroit for events in the past couple of years.

Thinking about it, KOTDs takeover of the West Coast scene is hella impressive. That was like a hostile takeover, and have cornered the market.

Nah KOTD gave the West a home at a time when we had none .. And we helped them
start expanding in the US..

Everyone wants to do battles in California now it's the latest trend hah

I don't think they're trying to compete so much as tap into an underrepresented market on the west coast

I mean, lets be real, URL caters to a different demographic than KOTD. There's absolutely some overlap, but I doubt url is going after the same audience

No question. They have a huge established fan base, used established artists and have it poppin. Wouldn't it take years to create a similar fan base to have an equally successful run in the West?

True. That's why they're selective with the talent. Danny, Pass, Day, and then Phoenix cats have the crossOver appeal.

So does the Fresh Coast line up have the ability to get any new pop up league cracking?

Do we want to watch new leagues go through these painful growing stages when KOTD is already doing it how we want?

Hasn't it always been that way, tho? Especially with the backpack rappers steadily hating on the street rappers out here?

But I don't mind it, tbr. I think the term "segregated" is kinda loaded, actually. It's almost like saying MMA and Boxing are segregated. Nah, it's just two different sports. You can enjoy both without trying to blend or merge the two together.

A lot of the hood kids out here feel neglected by the major West Coast platforms and have for a long time. It wasn't so much an issue before because there really wasn't that many people actively pursuing battle rap in the hood like that when GT was rising.. Plus there was The Jungle which was connected to GT at first and kinda served as a buffer.

When a battle like CLUTCH vs YAK gets zero reaction because the crowd literally doesn't get their bars, but that same battle would shake an entire room at a URL PG or LABG event- that's an issue.

There is power in numbers and unity

Funny example because MMA is a mix that includes some boxing, but is that besides the point?

Could the Bunker go it's own way now minus KOTD.. and in the process.. become a league that is a mix of the traditional KOTD and URL demographics?

@iamHBY what do you think about an RBE type league in the west? Or RBE expanding out west and playing a role similar to the one they play on the east there too.

That's true, which is why I tried to use an example where they are similar but value different aspects of fighting or "battling", as it were. So it's not exactly besides the point, but I was trying to highlight that they are playing by different rules.

Idk, I kinda hear you, but I think unity would weaken the movement the street side of battle rap is trying to advance. Unity brings about battles like caustic vs rex and head ice vs carter deems. Maybe its a good look for guys like caustic and carter, but it doesn't really help rex or head ice.

Cool sticker, but its curious that you're assuming I'm saying that in jest. Anyway, do you think street includes any backpacker style?
