[Flashback] - Road to World Domination 4 Edition - The Saurus vs Dizaster

What's so crazy about this battle?

- Dizaster almost looks like a different person.

- Illz, Plex and Lush are all hanging out together.

- This battle is five years old.

- Seeing how differently video and sound quality is nowadays.

- Each battler has improved/changed/tweaked his style since, yet certain elements certainly have stayed the same.

- Grindtime doesn't even exist anymore.

- This is the first Grind Time battle that Dizaster ever appeared in. This is only The Saurus' second.

- This battle was recorded in a park, in front of 100 people? In a short time following this video, both these dudes packed concert venues and clubs of thousands of people who paid to see them battle.

... and, to me, the craziest - fouls and overtime. (see second video)

The whole foul concept was fucking hilarious to me. Look at mad illz trying so hard to assert control over the battle and the concept was never used again. What a fag

This was the first time I watched Dizaster, and I was flabbergasted by how manic he was. Until that point, the battlers I watched focused purely on multies, and with the exception of Iron Solomon, they never even thought about performance. So when Dizaster went crazy during battles, it was like literally nothing I'd ever seen before, so at the time I understood why the judges sided with Dizaster, because he appeared so monstrous to me in comparison to the multi obsessed WRC guys I'd spent the previous year watching. But in hindsight Thesaurus roasted Diz with ease, I'd bet that the judges would now admit that they made a mistake.

I saw this battle the other day and wondered, how did Diz get a battle with TheSaurus at that point in his career? I mean, obviously after a back to back win in the WRC's and being double Scribble champ, The Saurus must have had a way bigger name than Diz had then. What was Diz known for before this battle?
Cool battle, I still don't get what the fouls were for.

that killed me

this was one of the first openly written battles I watched, I spent ages trying to rack my head around the fouls system, then wondered why nothing was ever called again ha.

Saurus took it, but Diz just seemed crazy back then. seem to remember the hype building around him fast

He was the best out aside from Thesaurus it just made sense, he was the local champ at a record store called Rehab Records, the west coast pit champ.

Dope battle. What really made Diz for me was him completely changing my perspective about him. I watched this, and I was ready to cast him off within the first few lines, then all of a sudden that Thesaurus in the house line came in, and I was like, "wow", then he really started getting into it, and it just threw me off. Still a good battle.

word but how did conceited get illmaculate too? if you compare there battling history at the time it makes no sense. thesaurus and illmaculate have always gave nobodies a shot. smp didnt deserve dizaster. after that battle i expected him to get more big names but he went back to ground zero. i wonder if this will be the case with cortez and tax.

I've never understood how anyone thought Dizaster won this battle. Diz was terrible back then, and is terrible now. I just don't see how anyone feels this guy. 90% of Diz's multi's are just absolute non-sense that happen to rhyme.

SMH at that Supa Hot Fire crowd hyping up every over-packed, non-sensical, wobbly-headed double time from Diz.
